The Cherry Picks: The Women of "Harlem". A discussion with the creator, actors, and costume designer
Streaming now on Prime Video, Harlem is a show you don’t want to miss…
This series from EPs Tracy Oliver, Amy Poehler, and Kim Lessing focuses on four best friends living in the titular iconic epicenter of Black culture. Camille (Meagan Good) is an adjunct at Columbia University, Tye (Jerrie Johnson) is the founder of a dating app for LGBTQ people of color, Quinn (Grace Byers) is an aspiring fashion designer who lives off of her ample trust fund while her boutique business teeters on the brink, and Angie (Shoniqua Shandai) is a struggling yet talented singer "temporarily" crashing on Quinn's couch. These innovative, aspiring women are turning the corner into serious professional lives while remembering to have each other's back in this mix of drama, romance, and laughs.
CherryPicks had the immense pleasure of sitting down with the women of Prime Video's Harlem for a special bonus episode of CherryPop!
On this two-part episode, our host Meg McCarthy kicks it off by talking to three of the lovely stars of the series, Meagan Good, Jerrie Johnson, and Shoniqua Shandai. Together, they discuss the power of sisterhood, their beautiful bond on screen and off, and the importance of seeing healthy examples of womanhood on screen.
